Hair & PRP

PRP Hair Treatment.

A treatment option used in selected hair-loss cases, considered only after your hair and scalp have been assessed by the dermatologist.

Understanding PRP

What the treatment actually involves.

What PRP is
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your own blood is taken and processed to separate a plasma concentrate, which is then injected into the scalp in the areas being treated.
Who may be considered
PRP is one option considered for selected patterns of hair loss. Whether it is appropriate depends on the type and stage of hair loss, the condition of the scalp and your medical history — all assessed at consultation.
What treatment involves
Sessions are carried out in the clinic and planned at set intervals rather than as a single treatment. What each visit involves, and how sessions are spaced, is explained to you before you begin.
What follow-up means
Progress is reviewed at planned intervals. The plan may be continued, adjusted or reconsidered based on how your hair and scalp respond.

How it works

Assessment first, then a plan you understand.

  1. 01

    Consultation

Your hair loss pattern, scalp condition and relevant history are assessed by the dermatologist.

  2. 02

    Assessment

Whether PRP is an appropriate option in your case is discussed, along with any investigations that may be indicated.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

If PRP is considered suitable, the sessions, intervals and what each visit involves are explained before you begin.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

Progress is reviewed at planned intervals and the approach is adjusted where needed.

What we will not tell you

PRP is not a guaranteed treatment for hair loss, and no clinic can honestly promise regrowth, a fixed result or a permanent outcome. Response varies between individuals and depends on the cause and stage of hair loss.

At your consultation you will be told whether PRP is a reasonable option in your case — and if another approach is more appropriate, that is what will be recommended.

PRP questions

Questions patients often ask.

If your question is not answered here, message the clinic — we will tell you whether a consultation is the right next step.

Yes. Skin type, the nature of the concern and medical history all influence whether a treatment is appropriate, so treatments at MySkin Clinic are planned after a consultation rather than booked directly.

Next step

Start with an assessment.

Hair fall has many possible causes. A consultation identifies what is driving yours before any treatment is planned.
